Description: An interactive discussion, both fun and serious, about the importance of developing our uniqueness, trusting our professional judgement, and allowing our authentic style to shape our practice - beyond our standard training.
Background: My name is Andy Hill and I qualified as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist in July 2020 after having trained at CPHT (now Inspirology) in Plymouth. For me, becoming a hypnotherapist was an unplanned (or was it?) life changing and hugely positive experience. It has changed my life. I now work full time as a hypnotherapist in Somerset and have learnt so much over the last 4 years (and have so much still to learn!). Some of this learning has been about the importance of developing, and becoming comfortable with, my own style, langage and approach, as a natural development to our standard training.
This session is intended to help members share their thoughts and experience about bringing themselves and their into their practice. Topics will lightly touch on any of the following:
The standard SFH approach - it's relability, safety and effectiveness
When to adapt the standard approach
When solution focused (in the moment) is not best
Adopting our own preferred language, descriptions and explanations (within the IC, Revision etc)
Going off script - tailoring trance to the person
Expanding the range of people we work with
Additional (and possibly essential) knowledge and tools
'Things they never taught us in training' - a light hearted look at some of the things that can happen in practice and the importance of being able to adapt in the moment.
Outcome: For Members to feel more confident in bringing their uniquenes and trusting their professional judgement in developing a safe, sustainable and enjoyable practice.
All Members of The Hypnotherapist Club are invited to come along, share and learn from each other. We'll all have something to contribute.
